AN ANALYSIS OF THE MAIN CHARACTER IN THE NOVEL “THE THING ABOUT ANDREW” BY STANLEY MEULEN AND ANDREW HO

Abstrak

              The purpose of this research is to: 1) analyze the main character in the novel the thing about Andrew (2) describes how the main character in the novel the thing about Andrew (3) identifies the life picture of Andrew Ho in the novel the thing about Andrew and using a qualitative approach.

              This study uses a descriptive literature study, applies how to collect data an describes the conflict faced by the main character in the novel "The Thing About Andrew" by Stanley Meulen & Andrew Ho. The data collection technique used in this study is the author observes all the data. by reading the novel to get an understanding of the content and then identifying and selecting data that has to do with the object of research

              Based on the results of data analysis, the key can be as follows:(1) The analysis of the main characters in the novel the thing about Andrew includes dialogues in Andrew's daily life, both in the environment where he lives, college life, struggles in the scope of work and Andrew's love story (2) Identification of the main character found in the Novel Thing about Andrew, namely Andrew is an optimistic, encouraging, persistent, dreamer, compassionate and professional figure (3) The description of Andrew Ho's life as the main character in The Thing Novel is Andrew, a child who only comes from a village who has big dreams for success and his struggle as a minority youth in his homeland is really not easy full of bittersweet challenges of life in the midst of a great economic crisis Andrew struggles until he succeeds in reaching the peak of his dream and even manages to get his true love.
